I've been posting samples of my design work over at my facebook page for Rosenthol Design, but I know not everyone is on facebook, and it's easy to miss posts over there.  So I'm curious -- would you want to see some of my design work posted here, too?  Or is that overkill?

FYI, I've registered RosentholDesign.com and put up a web page with some samples of my work and testimonials from satisfied customers. So if you know of anyone who's looking to have some design work done, please feel free to point them there, or tell them to email gilly@RosentholDesign.com. Thanks!

(OK, link now fixed. Also, I had temporarily broken the lightbox feature; if you click on any of the images, a larger or expanded version should pop up. You can scroll through all the pictures on a page by either hitting "p" and "n" for "previous" and "next", or else just clicking on the right and left sides of the image. You can hit escape or click on the "close" link to get out of that.)

Somerville Theatre logo
Capitol Theatre logo

I've been working on building up my freelance design practice lately, and I thought I'd show off the logos I just completed for the Somerville & Capitol Theatres. I really love those theatres, both as a performer and a patron, so it'll be extra fun to see my work representing them!

I'm definitely looking for more work; if you know anyone who might be looking for some print design, please do feel free to point them to my online portfolio at rosenthol.carbonmade.com

I got to work this morning, took the elevator up to my floor, went to take out my badge to open the door, and it was not in its usual place in my purse. I remembered having it still on during the Much Ado read-through last night, and then taking it off and putting it in my purse, so I knew it must be there. I put down my umbrella, my backpack, my coffee, and my muffin on the floor and took everything out of my purse -- still no badge. Used my cell phone to call a cow orker, who came to let me in (just as someone else got off the elevator and opened the door to me, of course.) Made a mental note to email [livejournal.com profile] heliopsis, who had hosted the line reading last night, to ask if he had found it anywhere, and then promptly forgot again.

An hour later, I was walking down the hall when my hand hit something plastic by my side. My badge. Which I had clipped to my pants before I left this morning.

I'm having a surprisingly good day. I got a call last night with a job for today -- got in at 9am, and I'm still there (and they did warn me in advance that I'd probably be here until 9pm.) But while I've had some down time, they've mostly been keeping me busy enough that the day is going quickly, and the people are fabulous. I spent part of the day dodging a marshmallow gun and discussing Sweeney Todd with my cow orkers. (It also doesn't hurt that they're paying the top end of my usual range.) I think I wouldn't mind working here permanently, although it might depend some on how often these late night sessions are necessary. Not sure how likely that is, but they seem to like me and have made it clear that they'd be happy to have me back any time. They've just ordered us dinner, and have arranged for me to share a cab home with another Somerville resident. I also took a nice break at lunch and treated myself to a yummy Valentine's Day lunch at Jae's, and I bought some caramel pecan turtles last night that I've been snacking on. All in all, not nearly as bad a Valentine's Day as I would have expected for an unemployed single person!
