What am I, chopped liver?
another cool service
Sep. 16th, 2008 11:04 ammessageSling. Free online voicemail; you can have you phone voicemail automatically forwarded here. It emails you when you get a new message, with an MP3 attached, or you can manage messages online, or check them via any phone. You can record personalized greetings for any contact. I like it mostly because I don't always remember to look at my cell phone, and if I have the sound off, I may miss messages for days.

Kelly provides today's most useful Boston tip: Google's Calculator lets you translate units of distance into smoots. For example, 10 miles equals 9456.7 smoots (and an ear).

Too cool not to share
Feb. 28th, 2006 04:05 pmPodzinger lets you do text searches within podcasts. Put in a search term, get back lists of podcasts that used it, listen to the podcast from within the browser starting at any word you choose, or of course you can subscribe, download, or get the RSS feed. Too cool, just try it. (And it's powered by BBN! Do I still know anyone there?)
(Sadly, does not work on Firefox for the Mac, but does claim to work in Safari.)
