I've been working on building up my freelance design practice lately, and I thought I'd show off the logos I just completed for the Somerville & Capitol Theatres. I really love those theatres, both as a performer and a patron, so it'll be extra fun to see my work representing them!

Wow, awesome! And they capture the history of the theaters very well!

As it happens, I was just telling vanguardcdk (not knowing who had done it) how much I loved the design work for the Dracula T-shirts and mugs, and he informed me you had done it. I really like your work!

Thanks! They were actually inspired by signs that had been used on the theatres; the Somerville one still hangs in the lobby, and there are pictures of the Capitol one on their web site. I really love doing vintage design, so it was a fun challenge to find a way to reflect those signs without being too literal about it.

And I'm so glad you liked the Dracula art! Since T@F found a cheap way to print in color, I've been having a blast doing their design.

The Capitol is nouveau, the Somerville is Deco. I've always loved art nouveau myself, this is the first time I've had an excuse to do any work in it!

Both, I believe. Just delivered the final files today, so it may be a little while before you start seeing them in use, though.

A small 2-screen cinema in Lexington Center recently changed its name from Lexington Flick to Lexington Venue. Wonder if they'd like a new logo to go with their new name?

The reopened Stuart Street Playhouse (now a movie theatre once more) could probably also use some publicity assistance.
