What I've been doing this week
Feb. 15th, 2008 10:22 amIt's been a very busy but pleasant week. Monday we had Much Ado rehearsal, and I got to run my big scene with Hero. We had worked it once before for the initial blocking, but this time we were both off book and had given some thought to some additional business, and it all came together to make it a whole lot of fun. My only wish is that we could see what Beatrice is doing behind us -- it's clearly incredibly funny!
Then Tuesday we had the first "stumble-through" of the whole play, where we ran the whole thing through. Everyone's character has developed so much since the initial read-through, and the scenes are really coming to life. I was absolutely riveted in watching a few of them. We always get great talent for T@F shows, but I believe we've really outdone ourselves on this one. I know I'm honored to be a part of the company.
Wednesday I went bridesmaid's dress shopping with
chanaleh and
muchabstracted. It was slightly overwhelming, but not as terrifying an experience as I had feared. After trying on about 30 dresses and tops and skirts in all of the wrong colors and sizes and trying to extrapolate would they would look in the *right* color and size, we came up with a combination that looks pretty damn sweet on me, and a lovely dress for
muchabstracted.
Last night I was in Brookline for a Butcherie run, when I got a call from a friend asking if I had plans. So he ended up coming to join me for dinner at Rami's, and then we both went to
ironpoet's movie night. I had brought an assortment of romantic movie choices, and we chose Say Anything, which
bismuthobsidian and
lordfeepness had somehow never seen! It turned out to be really the perfect choice, and it was extra nice to have a friend to cuddle with for it. It was nice to be able to enjoy Valentine's Day; some years I find it depressing, being single, but this year I found myself enjoying the trappings of the day for their own sake.
And tonight I'm going to get to sample
buckydt's first batch of blue cheese, which will also help to get me to shul for a change. Tomorrow afternoon I get to be a part of an initial play reading of a friend's new work, and then tomorrow night I'm going to see
bacall and
school_kills in Chess. Sunday there's a play reading of the proposed plays for T@F's summer one-acts, a steering committee meeting, and then an 80's dance for a friend's birthday. Should be a full but enjoyable weekend!
