Opening night went really well -- it's been hard to believe, over the last few rehearsals, that we are in fact as funny as I thought the first time I saw some of these scenes. But although it took the audience a little while, after a few scenes they seemed to catch on and laughed very satisfyingly (although not in all the places we had expected, and in more than a few that we had not expected. Ah, the mystery that is an audience.) And afterwards I had a wonderful time at pheromone and derspatchel's house, drinking too much tequila (l'chaim!) and getting to know some of my castmates better (and of course I include crew in that). And now I'm off to do it all again! Yay! Hope to see some of you there.

I just wanted to mention how much I enjoyed your performance! I played the role of Mistress Page in a sort of "Scenes from Shakespeare" festival back in high school. We did the scene where she reads the letter out loud. I felt that I really never did get the hang of it, and I couldn't figure out what exactly it was that didn't work - timing or emphasis or what. Watching you was a revelation of "Oh! That's how to do it!" And I laughed my butt off. Thank you! I think that's been bothering me on some level for a decade and a half. =)

Thanks so much for sharing that -- it means a lot to me. The letter was one of the most exciting and scary things I've done in theater so far, so I'm really glad you liked it.
