Lovely weekend thus far, with more to come. Friday night some friends who I don't get to see nearly often enough dropped by for a bit, then kindly left me to my shabbos snoozing.

Saturday I went to the Talley & Son reading at T@F. We got a really good crowd, and it turned out that there were enough parts in the play for everyone who was there at the beginning and wanted to read to get one. I got to read Aunt Lottie, which was a total hoot, and felt that I did her reasonable justice for a first reading. It was weird to hear [livejournal.com profile] chanaleh and [livejournal.com profile] dpolicar playing other characters -- shouldn't they have been down in the boathouse? As always, we got a surprising amount of talent and I really enjoyed hearing what others did with the characters, as well as the range of accents we came up with :)

I begged off of a Johnny D's outing afterwards to come home and get more sleep, and fell asleep to wake up after shabbos was over. I had really wanted to go to a birthday/housewarming party, but it was so gross outside and I had a headache and I just couldn't make myself leave the house. Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] tapuz and [livejournal.com profile] laurens10.

And now I'm awake way too early, watching the apricot light of the sunrise on the show outside my windows turn to gold. And in a minute I'll curl back up in bed with my down comforter and my big stuffed leopard and a book and enjoy a lazy Sunday morning with Charlie Brown rehearsal yet to look forward to. It's a good life I have, at least today.

At Johnny D's several of us were commenting on how much we enjoyed your Lottie. That was great!

Glad you got some good snoozing in.

maybe we should have a reading of Merry Wives to psych ourselves up

ooh! I really like this idea! Perhaps we could do it in the lead-up to auditions, so people can get a sense of the play.
