catching up
Jan. 4th, 2004 10:57 amOne of the best parts of New Year's Eve was unexpectedly finding
emerlion at the party I went to. It was really wonderful to see her and get to catch up a little, but not nearly enough.
She invited me to join a gang for a sushi outing on Thursday night, which turned out to be more of an adventure than you might think. I carefully checked walking directions to get there, but a street I needed to turn on had no sign so I walked about a mile out of my way first, only to arrive and find everyone waiting for me in front of a closed restaurant. We all piled into cars and drove to Ginza in Brookline, where I discovered that out of the 11 people there, there were only 2 I didn't know -- and most of the ones I did know were from totally different parts of my life. (Oh, and of course everyone there had an LJ, although I now forget who everyone was. Post up, people.) Funny how much
emerlion and I overlapped in her time here, and how late we ended up meeting. After dinner an intrepid 4 of us, including
cristovau, went to see Return of the King, which I enjoyed (and cried at) even more on my second viewing. Heck, I might even try reading the book again now.
And luckily I've had two days now to recover from my late nights, so I should be able to get through this work week before I leave for Bonaire (ahhh....)
