Oct. 11th, 2004 03:32 pmWhat a fabulous day. I managed to sleep until 9am for a change -- I think I'm still recovering from
plumtreeblossom's spaghetti party and
androidqueen's afterparty Saturday! Had a leisurely morning, then went out to run some errands. I went to Keezers and picked up a new tailcoat, since my old one is disintegrating more and more every time I wear it. Dropped in to Great Eastern Trading to browse their costumes. I almost made it out without buying anything, and then I spotted the tiaras. So now I'm not sure what my next costume will be, but I have a beginning. Any suggestions? And no, I'm not dyeing my hair blonde and going as Princess Di.
I also stopped in to the new Porter Square Books -- not much inventory yet, but I found a little book called The Actor's Field Guide that looks useful, so I bought that in a bid to support independent bookstores. When I got home my roommate was back, so I dragged her out to a yard sale I had noticed around the corner -- more of a yard giveaway, really, since there was a big sign that says "FREE" posted on the tree. They had several tables, one of them pretty decent, so we dragged that back to the house where it's now waiting on the porch for my electric screwdriver to finish recharging so we can take the legs off and get it upstairs. I'm currently eating some leftover gumbo with lamb sausage (yum!) and preparing myself for tonight's stumble-through of Murder.

Date: 2004-10-11 03:08 pm (UTC)Yay independent bookstores!
I was in Wordsworth in Harvard Square last week and was very depressed to see that they've cut their hours and their shelves are quite bare-looking with their reduced stock. I used to drive to Cambridge just to go to Wordsworth when I lived in Western Mass. I'm glad there are new stores carrying on the torch.
