Sudden thought -- oh, *that's* why I'm so scared of driving. It's a situation where it's critical that I be in control, and I don't know how, and there's no safe and easy way to learn -- you just have to do it. That freaks me out more than I can say. It's much easier to let someone else be in control than to be in control myself and fuck it up.
