Goodreads

 I tend to use Goodreads to keep track of books I want to read, and then periodically go through and request a bunch from the library.  I'd open up a bunch of tabs with books I want to read, open up a tab for the library, cut and paste titles and request them.

Well, maybe everyone else has already figured this out, but I just discovered that in addition to the links below a title on GoodReads that allow you to find it at Amazon and other booksellers -- you can add links for the BPL and the Minuteman Library Network.  (And Better World Books.  And Project Gutenberg.  And a whole lot of other good sources.)  

One click, the book comes up (well, mostly; some older books don't seem to be listed by the field they're using), I click "request", poof.

I feel like Cat on Red Dwarf.  "Book!  Book!  Book!  Book!  Book!"

I'm failing to figure out how. When I click on "more options" I only get different Amazons. The help files aren't. Clue?

On the "more options" page, to the right, there's a column the says "find this book at:" and then to the right of that in tiny print "customize order". Click on that and you'll find the really long list of possible sources. Not very intuitive at all, it's true -- not really sure how I stumbled upon it.

THAT is brilliant! I am going to make use of that, as soon as The Somerville Public Library stops threatening to break my kneecaps because I've had Middlemarch out so long. It astounds me how quickly both you and Amy Lee go through books.

I keep shabbos. That's 25 hours every week where I do pretty much nothing but read and sleep. :)

But yeah, I've already read fast, and it's always a struggle for me to keep stocked with good books. Luckily, I keep finding good ones on Amy Lee's list!
