I left on the 10am Bolt bus yesterday, and came back on the 3pm bus today. In between, I:
All in all, not bad for just over 24 hours in the city!
- Had the fastest trip through TKTS I can remember -- pretty much no line! And I had done my research beforehand, which made picking a show easier.
- Had two short visits with my cousin and her 14-month-old son, the first time I've made it in to meet him
- Had delicious sushi for dinner with Dana & Nick in their fabulous apartment
- Saw the incomparable Rosemary Harris in a very nice production of The Royal Family (in a theatre smaller than the Somerville!)
- Poked my head into Colony Music to look at sheet music
- Spent the night at Nick & Dana's, and enjoyed hot coffee and freshly-made muffins with them in the morning
- Was lured into two different Ricky's (OMG! you can buy from them online! Oh, I'm in trouble now...) for another fabulous pair of sparkly false eyelashes and some bright turquoise eye shadow for disco purposes
- Met up with Jess for lunch at the 2nd Ave Deli, where we enjoyed the gribenes (fried chicken skin with onions) and sour pickles a little too much. I met my match in a triple-decker sandwich with warm corned beef, tongue, salami, cole slaw and Russian dressing. I could not actually fit my mouth around the entire stack at once. The meal concluded with an amuse-bouche of chocolate soda. Yum. And half of my sandwich made it home with me, along with some more sour pickles.
- I failed to do the Walkin' Broadway tour I had downloaded at home, in favor of stopping into a Judaica store with Jess, running into the Veteran's Day parade, and then picking just the right eyeshadow at Ricky's. Ah well, next time. I've got a list I'm compiling... definitely don't want to wait another two years before I go again!
