It is a neat coat, but the practical side of me advises you to try it on first. I think you're more curvy than the model, which may make it hang funny. Also, the fit of the shoulders look like they limit arm movement.

That's what I was thinking. That model has a very boyish look, no hips and smallish breasts, and the coat accentuates her line very well. Despite some of your earlier roles, there is nothing boyish about your figure. I think the style of this coat would be fighting instead of complementing the lines of your figure.

One thing I've noticed about frock coats is that if the wearer is fairly short and has narrow shoulders, the coat will look more like a dress and less like a coat. Something about the proportions of the fitted top and full skirt.

If it were me, I'd order it and see how it looks--you can always send it back, and a coat that gorgeous is worth a try.

OK, the coat is gorgeous. Unfortunately with your build I think a cut away velvet coat with tails would be a better look for you. Still try it on and see. It is too lovely not to try. :) p.s. I may have some of your garb in a bag that Elizabeth returned to me.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, mostly the people who know me and costume seem to think it might not work -- but as you say, it's too gorgeous not to try! We'll see how it works. And if you see a cut-away velvet coat somewhere, let me know!
