I've been playing around with facebook a bunch lately. I didn't expect to find anything worthwhile on it, but you know, I really like it. It can';t replace LJ for me, but it's a nice adjunct. It has some nice features, like the ability to plan events and invite people (whether they're on facebook or not.) You can set a one-line status; I find it a lot easier to write something in there that gives a clue as to my life than I do to write a full LJ entry. You can see when your friends add other friends, which helps to grow your network. And there are lots of third-party applications you can add to your profile, things that can let you track and recommend books and movies, share pictures from flickr, count down to events, play games, have virtual pets... all sorts of things. There are even already groups on it for Theatre@First and Tremont Street Shul, although we still seem to be figuring out exactly what to do with them. Anyway, if you haven't been over there yet, or if you thought you were too old for it, come on by and take a look.
