casting news
Sep. 10th, 2006 10:37 amI am very pleased to announce that I will be playing the role of Mrs Blinder in The Maid's Bell under the direction of
eclecticavatar, part of Tomes of Terror: A Staged Radio Thrillogy, the sequel to last year's Chickenheart. This is my first drama since My Boyfriend's Wife last summer, and I'm really looking forward to it. Comedy is fun and all, but there's nothing like getting to cry onstage! We will be performing Monday October 30th at First Church, where all the T@F shows are. This is a series of three radio dramas performed live on stage, with accompanying live foley effects. There's an episode of Fibber McGee and Molly, and two Nightfall episodes. We may also be performing an encore at Arisia!

ironpoet and I are doing -- Shakespeare in Hollywood, with Arlington Friends of the Drama. I am a member of the ensemble, appearing throughout the show as such characters as Dale Evans, a screaming fan, a dancing waiter, and a fairy. I even have a line or two!
Performances will be October 13, 14, 20th at 8:00 pm, Saturday October 21st at 2:00 and 8:00 pm, and Sunday October 22nd at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $18, and they are reserved seats. See http://www.afdtheatre.org for details or to purchase tickets.
A summary of the show: It's 1934, and Shakespeare's most famous fairies, Oberon and Puck, have magically materialized on the Warner Bros. Hollywood set of Max Reinhardt's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Instantly smitten by the glitz and glamour of show biz, the two are ushered onto the silver screen to play (who else?) themselves. With a little help from a feisty flower, blonde bombshells, movie moguls, and arrogant "asses" are tossed into loopy love triangles, with raucous results. The mischievous magic of moviedom sparkles in this hilarious comic romp.
