It's odd, parts of Inkheart I enjoyed immensely, and parts of it felt very slow. It may have been me reading it in chunks with some time between, so it took time to remember who everyone was and get back into the story. I might still give the sequel a try, but I think I'll give it a little while first.

Here's what I don't get.

They do what they can to trick you into reading the message with subject lines about your bank account and hi from an old friend.

The contents are full of intentional misspellings in an attempt to foil spam-catchers.

So do they think that if the message does escape both my mechanical and organic spam-filters, that if I open it and read it, I'm suddenly going to decide "Why yes, come to think of it, I *do* want to e''nlarge my p''enis! What the heck!" Or is it more, "Wow, they went to all that effort just to reach me... I really owe them something. Sure, here's my bank account number."
