Mar. 21st, 2003 01:20 pmI don't get it. There seems to be a weird conversation being repeated in all the media that makes no sense to me. It goes something like this:
Anti-war person: "This was is unjustified and we don't want to see people killed."
Pro-war person: "You're anti-American and you're not supporting our troops."
I haven't heard one anti-war person say anything about our troops except that they'd rather not see them killed, and that they don't think they belong over there in the first place. Most of them make a point of being very appreciate and respectful of the people in the armed forces. So where is this meme coming from? Is it a hold-over from the Vietnam-era backlash? Or did it get planted somewhere? Anybody got a clue?
