The only SOS stop I made it to yesterday was the Nave Gallery at 155 Powderhouse Blvd., since I was volunteering for T@F at the trolley stop outside. As a fundraiser for ARTSomerville and the Nave Gallery, there was a photographer inside doing photo shoots. The shoot itself is free (and her normal rate is $350 for a sitting, so this is pretty amazing), and you can order prints for only $25/sheet (1 8x10, 2 5x7, 4 4x6, or 8 wallets). I'm not sure if it's the same photographer there today, but if it's still Meghan Moore, I can't recommend her highly enough. She made me feel incredibly comfortable, talked me through a bunch of shots, showed me what she had, we talked about what I liked and didn't like in them, she took some more... and when her assistant showed me what we got on the laptop, there was a bunch of good ones, some I was considering, and then all of the sudden one that absolutely took my breath away. Not because it made me look particularly lovely or anything, but because it was so absolutely and intimately *me* that it was a little scary. I can't wait to get a print.

Actually, she's not there today, someone else is. But yes, she's really amazing.

She was in Lowell at her building's Open Studios and she was amazing. She took a bunch of us (M's folks were with us also) and wow.
