One that I can't count towards my total, not having read the whole thing, but I really want to recommend: Technical Theater for Nontechnical People, by Drew Campbell. A very easy-to-read overview on many aspects of theater, including scenery, lighting, sound props, and stage management. I've ordered my own copy from Amazon, I think this is going to be a great reference.

[livejournal.com profile] ayelle, Changeling was the one I was in the middle of that I couldn't remember. And The Various turned out to be pretty good once I finally got started. As with Celandine, I think I liked the human-world bits a lot more than the fairy-world ones; the West Country accents get wearing very quickly. Plus make me think of The Little Princess too much.

I forget who recommended Garlic and Sapphires, but whoever it was, thanks, I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to reading her other books now.

I agree, I thought the human-world bits were much stronger -- I really loved that whole gothing hellish boarding school motif. I haven't gotten to The Various yet -- I'm been tearing through the ones I have checked out that have recently won awards and such instead, because I won't be able to renew them. D'you suppose I could skip the faerie parts in it? :-)
