I took yesterday and today off work, and oh my lord I had no idea how much I needed that.

Wednesday night I had a fabulous dinner at Evoo with [livejournal.com profile] lillibet. I had an asparagus soup that was more a bowl of cut-up asparagus in a broth, but very yummy, followed by -- it's not on their online menu so I don't remember precisely, but some kind of fish, I think trout, with fiddlehead ferns and roasted potatoes and some kind of yummy sauce. I topped it all off with bourbon pecan pie for dessert. All in all a very enjoyable meal.

After that we met up with [livejournal.com profile] she_ragroupie and [livejournal.com profile] lordfeepness and [livejournal.com profile] bismuthobsidian at ImprovBoston, where we saw Katie's show Archipelago. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I enjoyed it overall. I don't seem to enjoy long-form improv as much as many people, but they did some interesting things with character that I enjoyed.

Thursday I slept in, got up and cooked some breakfast, put away laundry, took a nap, wandered in to Ball Square for an outdoor lunch at True Grounds, watched some of my huge backload on my TiVo, went over to [livejournal.com profile] ironpoet's to watch some Doctor Who, then there was Movie Night.

Today I slept in again, went out to breakfast at Renee's Cafe -- a group of my friends and I used to go there every Friday morning at 7am, but I haven't been in ages. I had an omelet with asparagus and roasted sweet potatoes with swiss cheese. Delicious. After that I wandered down into Porter, stopping into shops that are usually closed by the time I pass them. Got some groceries, came home by way of Diesel and a raspberry lime ricky, and now I'm smelling the barbecue wings cooking away for my shabbos lunch, and I have Margarita Chicken marinating and ready to grill for dinner.

Sunday morning [livejournal.com profile] bismuthobsidian and I take off for adventures in Newport, and meanwhile I still have a whole 'nother day to myself. Maybe I'll even make it to synagogue this week!
