The Stuff of Dreams is about Arlington Friends of the Drama, a group that lillibet has directed with and several of my friends have acted with. This book is about them as a group, their history and the history of community theater in America, and particularly about the experience of their putting on M. Butterfly in 1998. The author follows a number of people on both the tech and cast side through the show, really giving a good idea of what community theater is all about. I found myself awed, in reading it, to realize that I'm a part of that; that here she is describing this mad and magical experience, and I'm lucky enough to live it.

I'm excited to find out about Stuff of Dreams. I read another book by Leah Hagar Cohen, Train Go Sorry, which was excellent. I didn't know she also wrote a book about community theater!
