You Can't Take It? Can't Take It? ooh, i like CTI. maybe the title of the show is trying to tell you something: YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU AND MAKE IT SHORT.
oh but yuck ptooey is rather clever.
were we in Meet-Kuh together then? i liked "Murder" though. it was so deliciously vaguely grim.
I know, I love the fact that we did Murder together!
The problem with You Can't Take it With You is that no subset of the words seems to make sense. You Can't? Take It? Can't Take? I dunno, none of them feel right. But CTI works for me. Although there may be some days when it's just got to be yuck ptooey...
We did have a fun discussion about what to call it and how to abbreviate it...had to get the important decisions made early!
Looking at other shows' examples didn't help.
First word - Murder - You? Nope. First two words - Merry Wives - You Can't? Sorry...no. Last word - Splash - still You. Still nope. Last two words - Charlie Brown - With you...not so great.
The anagrams are worse.
YCTIWY. You've discovered the lack of poetry on that one. It looks like a carton swear word to me, and let's face it, it is just too long and complicated for me to type!
Our esteemed producer suggested TIWY, pronounced tee-wee...from Take It With You, but we already know you can't take it with you...and it sounded like a Southern lady's euphemism for what happens in the ladies' room. Just too twee for me!
The delightful director said he'd worked on the show before, so I asked him what they called it. He said "Can't Take It" which I don't especially care for...but that produced CTI! Which does have a trendy TV show sound and is short to type...so there we are!
Only time will tell if this will actually catch on.
