Wow. Some time soon, my email address will, for the first time in over a decade, no longer be gilly@apocalypse.org. I understand why John wouldn't want to deal anymore, but somehow it feels like the death knell of something that once was. I'll post when I figure out what my new address will be.

*nod*

I can understand (running drum) but also ofcourse I had assumed this feeling of "it's forever".

I really appriciate all he's (they) have done over the years with it!

Perhaps even more than the physical space, when apocalypse.org closes, it's really going to feel like the end of an era. Time to grow up and move on.

I'm incredibly grateful to John for hosting me these many years. I'm going to miss it.

I'd had netcom.com for over a decade before they decided to eliminate shell support, requiring me to get a new email address.

That's why I registered osmond-riba.org; I didn't want to have to go through the hassle of switching addresses again. This way, my back end is whereever I want, but my email address won't change.

ya..

it definitely feels like a separation of sorts.. an unignorable reminder that we've all grown up, and to some extent, away from each other; moving out, getting married, having kids, buying houses, focusing on a few good relationships and friendships..

in a way, it feels more shocking than when the Ranch stopping being the Ranch.. at least then there was still apocalypse holding all of the rancher-kin together.

now we've got LJ :)

some of us, at least..

:)
