Grr. So, the company I freelance through offers cheap insurance. The coverage isn't great, but it's enough to get me by until I get a full-time job at some point. And last year, that insurance counted for MA's health insurance laws. But I just got my renewal package, and they say that it will not meet the minimum coverage requirements for 2009. And if I sign up for it pre-tax, I can't cancel the program until next July. So I can either sign up post-tax so that I can jump ship when I need new coverage, or else get insurance on my own. And of course getting the health care on my own is WAY more expensive. Grrrrr. Thanks, Massachusetts. I feel so much healthier now.
