Had such a great time at Pride today. We ended up with half a dozen T@F folks, and the weather, while cool, did not get as wet as we had feared. I haven't marched in Pride in a few years now, although I did go watch two years ago, mostly because there was no group I was really involved with enough to want to walk with them. So it was really wonderful to be a part of the parade again with a group that is so close to my heart -- thanks to those who joined us, and those who tried and were thwarted :)

It's so hard to describe the amazing energy at Pride; there's just such an atmosphere of celebration and love and support and, well, pride. Somehow there seem to be no strangers at Pride. I love to march along and smile at individual people in the crowd and have them smile back, or yell out compliments on a particularly impressive outfit and get an appreciative smile. I heard several people commenting on our Theatre@First signs, excited to see a theater group, which made me feel extra warm and fuzzy. Saw some friends in the crowds as well, which is always fun.

[livejournal.com profile] lifecollage and I wandered the booths at the festival at the end of the parade for a while, and got to catch up with some old friends on both our sides. But the hours of standing around and the long walk and all of the excitement caught up to me pretty quickly, so after one quick round we headed for the T and home and a well-deserved shabbos nap. I'm not sure which is going to hurt more tomorrow, my legs from walking or my cheeks from smiling so much.
