I've got to say, I'm really enjoying this unemployment thing. I don't want it to last all too much longer -- and I've got reasonable hopes that it won't, I have a bunch of irons in the fire and some decent prospects, although nothing specific at this point -- but so far it's been really great to have some time to myself to catch up on projects around the house, watch my dusty Netflix DVDs, get enough sleep, and even actually cook.

I decided pretty much on the spur of the moment (for me, planning only a week ahead is still sudden, ok?) to go to New York tomorrow, coming back Thursday. I haven't been there in almost a year, and I'm psyched to see my cousin and [livejournal.com profile] she_ragroupie, have some good kosher food, and hopefully catch a show. (I was planning to buy tickets to The Drowsy Chaperone, but I don't want to pay full price right now, and I can only find a discount code for seats halfway back in the mezzanine, and that's just not worth it to me. Yes, I do know I'm spoiled.) I might try TKTS, although standing on line for hours alone in the rain is not really how I want to spend my time.

For my own reference, I've made a google map of some of the things that I plan to do in New York one of these days. It's not very polished (or complete), but I figured I might as well mention it here in case anyone else is interested. I'm certainly open to suggestions for more things, too! I'm not big on art museums, but I love hands-on museums and tours.
