I accidentally left the house naked today.
Well, ok, not really naked, but I sure feel that way without my purse. My purse that holds my house keys, T-pass, wallet, cell phone, palm pilot, work ID, pen for the crossword... I spent a while casing my house trying to find a way to break in, then went next door to my landlord's house to see if they were home and could let me in. Just as I reached the door, someone came out -- one of their tenants who lives in another apartment in the house. We rang the landlord's bell to no response, but when I explained my plight and asked him if I could borrow a quarter to add to the dollar in my pocket to get me to work, he handed me a twenty-dollar bill and just said to return it in the mail slot when I can.
So I've made it to work, and got a temporary badge for the day, and I have coffee and food (my flight was delayed last night and dinner ended up being a soft pretzel in the airport and a Luna bar on the plane at 10:30pm) and I think I can make it through the day. Next step is to call my roommate and ask what time she'll be home. It's way better than having it stolen, it's only an inconvenience for the day, but grrr. Just can't believe I did that.
