Go Team Hoyt!

I just had to run an errand at the post office (which luckily was open, despite Patriot's Day.) Since that took me over to the Pru, right near the route of the Boston Marathon, I figured I might as well pop out and see a few minutes of the race. As it happened, I went out just in time to see Dick and Rick Hoyt being televised on the large screen in front of the Pru, as they were passing under the Mass Ave overpass. I was able to watch them go by in person and cheer them on, then watch again on the screen as they finished the race.
There are a lot of things I enjoy about the Marathon — seeing all the wheelchair athletes on the streets of Boston in the days preceding the race, riding the T home surrounded by runners in foil blankets, the people who line the streets all along the route and cheer in strangers -- but I think the Hoyts are my favorite part.
