Eek. I have been impaneled on a jury on a murder case. They estimate it will take 5 days due to the number of witnesses. Let me tell you how happy work is...

Damn! I was finally called earlier this season. I was so excited to possibly be on a jury, but my number was never called and I was in the group thanked and sent home in under two hours. I'd have switched with you if I could!

I was on a crimial jury a few years ago that took 8 days including 1.5 days of deliberation - armed assault and home invasion. Being a juror is exhausting because you're paying such hard attention all of the time. I was so wiped out, I had to take a nap every afternoon when I got home. Make sure you get lots of rest and eat well!

It is all day court or just part? It seems to me you could have gotten out of that per Shabbos if it goes late into the afternoon on Friday...

I was on a three-day jury once, and it was scary. Not the case, the other jurors. If I'm ever on trial for my life, I'm waiving my right to a jury of my peers, that's for sure.

But I'm glad they got somebody smart and thoughtful for THIS case, at least!

Can't wait to hear all about it once you can talk! Tom was on a murder trial a couple of years ago and it was fascinating. I've never made it out of the waiting room, so I'm actually sort of jealous. I hope it's not too upsetting for you.
