Happy birthday to me!

gilanaIt's been a great birthday so far. I got up this morning, puttered around on the computer, finally went to go take a shower and discovered a flurry of tiny birthday balloons just inside my door. My roommate was waiting outside to wish me a happy birthday. (She was very amused; she had assumed the balloons were normal size when she bought them, and got very paranoid blowing them up.) After thanking her I went into the bathroom and found a rubber duck and a really funny birthday card from the dog waiting for me. And then when I finally left the apartment, there was a birthday banner and more tiny balloons across the stairway just outside my door. What a great roommate.
And then my cow orkers took me out to lunch; when I picked the Atlantic Fish Co as a venue it was with the stipulation that I get to pay for myself, since it's somewhat pricy, but they ended up overruling me. I had a delicious seared tuna sandwich with dipping sauce that I love there, and we shared pumpkin cheesecake with creme anglaise and apple crisp and chocolate layer cake with raspberry sauce among the 8 of us for dessert.
And now I'm almost done work and ready to head home and prepare for DAAM, my first time hosting in my lovely new home. Should be a lovely night. Yay birthdays!
