We've got out first stumble-through for Murder in the Cathedral tomorrow. I'm a little nervous, since I don't know all my lines, don't have all the blocking down, don't know any of my cues, and the "I" in all of those is not just me but nine other bodies. But every rehearsal we have makes me more and more sure that this will not be a show to miss. Even when just running my lines, I find myself unable to keep out the emotion -- this is powerful stuff. And I can't wait to have it all down by heart so I can concentrate on really feeling it, not to mention all the running and spinning and creeping and swooning I get to do.
So you know you want to see it. And one great way to see it, for free even, would be to volunteer. We need 8 people working per show - 4 ushers, 2 box office and two concessionaires. Email bex77@comcast.net with which show you'd like to help out with and which job(s) you'd prefer.
Here is the show schedule:
Friday, Nov. 5 8 pm
Saturday, Nov. 6 4 & 8 pm
Thursday, Nov. 11 at 8 pm
Friday, Nov. 12 at 8 pm
Saturday, Nov. 13 at 4 pm and 8 pm
Oh, and while you have your calendar out, mark December 4 at 4pm. That's my choir concert -- we're doing Vivaldi's Gloria and a Christmas medley piece. The Gloria is one of my favorite pieces, well worth hearing.
