gilanaWell, work was a major pain today -- in the middle of the project from hell, 15 brochures that are due yesterday and the content keeps changing on me, and woman I have to get it from is a twittering idiot. Plus the art director for Duracell and brand-new studio manager under our forthcoming regime both announced that they are leaving for greener pastures.
But then I went to the first read through for Murder in the Cathedral, and got to see old friends and meet new people, and learned much to my surprise that hey, this play doesn't suck. I got totally drawn into the language, and I'm so looking forward to knowing the words by heart so that I can really speak them. And we've got some really amazing people in this group; for some of the speeches I had to just put down my script and listen. I had been concerned about forcing my friends to come see what I expected to be a really dry, dull play, but now I think it's actually going to be really enjoyable. Of course, I can't begin to conceive of how I'm ever going to learn that many lines, but at least I'm not alone in it.
And now I just got home to find my package from Oriental Trading waiting for me, full of leis and candy necklaces and grass skirts and all kinds of goodies. Wheeee! 13 days to my birthday...
