I'm sitting in the airport waiting for my flight, now delayed almost 2 hours. Weekend was mostly good - Mom was completely surprised and thrilled to pieces, and her reaction to our appearance was all I could hope for. Only one major conflict with the family over religion (I had to put on a non-sleeveless shirt if I wanted to go with them to someone's house on shabbos) but we had a good talk about why that would be such a big deal to me, and I felt like it was my choice in the end. My nieces are as cute as ever, I actually had a conversation with my brother, and we got to visit my 96-year-old grandmother this morning. But boy am I ready to be home now.
