Well bleah. MacWorld ended today, and it was the worst one I remember ever going to. No Apple, no Adobe, not much of anyone else, nothing I wanted to buy on the show floor, and the sessions in the conference were mostly pretty lame. The few good things I did see in presentations -- well, the presenters kept saying that the presentations were on the CD we got, so they didn't do handouts. Except we didn't get a CD. And when I went to ask about it today, they said that they weren't giving CDs out to people in the Users Conference track. So I had to spend half an hour finding the right person to yell at, and finally settled for filling out a form scathingly and hoping that they'll get back to me.

Then I got back to work and found a 36-page coupon book (with coupons from all of Gillette's brands, so I keep having to go through 17 different levels of managers and marketing and legal) that I've been working on for months and that I thought was almost ready for print, marked up with a ton of changes. It still needs to go out tomorrow, of course.

THEN I got a call from a coworker warning me that somehow in my interview about the new organization of our department, in which I was trying to be a good sport about not being chosen for a higher level position, they decided that I don't want to pull my weight and I'm not a team player. So I'm going to have to play politics and lie through my teeth and try to get them to believe what my performance should be able to say for me.

Oh yeah, and my stupid psyche has chosen today to play "nobody loves me everybody hates me I'm gonna go eat worms". Sometimes my psyche is such a twit.

Here, I even have chocolate covered worms for you cause you sound like you need some chocolate. However, I left out the worms and put in chocolate mousse instead.

I would reccomend Gummi worms... they taste better, even if they do have far less protein, but alas far more carbs. :)

Gilly, tell your psyche that we all think you rock. And tell Gilette what they want to hear, knowing all the while, in your own heart, what you *really* think ("not a team player" is the stupidest bit of doublespeak in the business world, BTW). And tell Steve Jobs that the *real* MacWorld badly needs to come back to the East Coast. And ace the coupon book, then forget about it, and look forward to the show tomorrow night!!
