Oh, oh, oh -- I love The Last Unicorn. How did you like it?

The Last Unicorn is possibly the saddest book I've ever read. I can't even cathartically cry at the end, it's so sad. It just leaves me feeling heartbroken and wistful. But it's so beautiful.

It's out of print, but you MUST read The Folk of the Air, about SCA-style recreationists and 60s counterculture survivors in 1980s Berkeley. It's my favorite Beagle.

And then you need to read the story "Julie's Unicorn," a wonderful short sequel of sorts to Folk. You can find it in The Rhinosceros Who Quoted Nietzsche, which may or may not still be in print. Anyway, amazon or alibris or AbeBooks will have 'em.

Embarrassingly, I misspelled "rhinoceros," but here's an amazon link to copies of the collection:

Starting from $5.99! (http://www.amazon.com/Rhinoceros-Quoted-Nietzsche-Peter-Beagle/dp/0964832070)

I should also mention that there's another Joe Farrell story in Rhinoceros; it's called "Lila the Werewolf" and it's actually referenced in Folk. Enjoy!
