Honey Moon by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
The Folk of the Air by Peter S. Beagle
All Together Dead (Southern Vampire Mysteries, Bk. 7) by Charlaine Harris
The Folk of the Air was one of the best things I've read in a long time. Part of that may be that it centers around a group that sounds an awful lot like the SCA, and brought up vivid reminders of my time with that group. But most of it was just the writing. The language is so beautiful and poetic, deliberate words that paint vivid pictures, but without being so pretentious or self-aware that they get in the way of the story. For once, I had to take my time in reading, because I just wanted to luxuriate in the gorgeous words and how they were strung together.
