It's been a really nice weekend. Friday I came home from work, grilled up a hunk of meat on my new Weber Baby Q grill, and made myself a nice cold Thai beef salad for dinner, which I ate in bed with a book and a fan. Slept until about 7 am, woke up and read for a while, then fell asleep again and woke up too late for shul. Oops. At 6 pm I went over to the church for work day, but it had been cancelled, so after a few minutes I went back home and fell into bed with yet another book.

This morning [livejournal.com profile] bismuthobsidian and I went for our girly time and had our toes painted, and learned that apparently gods like donuts. Enriched with that knowledge, we called [livejournal.com profile] lordfeepness to come and join us for a lovely brunch at Johnny D's. After that I went to the real work day at the church, and thanks to some superb truck-wrangling by [livejournal.com profile] lillibet we had a very useful day, with enough people to do all the necessary lifting and carrying. I even got to paint for once -- usually work days are all Saturdays so I don't get to have any fun. I was exhausted and hot and sweaty after that, so I called [livejournal.com profile] dpolicar to bag on the Summer Revels, and headed home. On my way home I head someone yell from a car "Hi Gilly!" but I didn't see who it was. I crossed the street and [livejournal.com profile] audioboy and [livejournal.com profile] bex77 and [livejournal.com profile] derspatchel pulled up next to me -- they had circled back around to say hi. They were on their way to dinner, so I jumped in the van and joined them for a lovely air-conditioned dinner at Outback. And now I'm home and playing with ideas for a logo for Merry Wives of Windsor and starting to make packing lists for my trip to New York next weekend. Oooo, and I got a ticket to see Avenue Q while I'm there! I'm so psyched.

Run-through of the play tomorrow (only 17 days until we open! I can't wait), rehearsal Tuesday, hopefully get together with [livejournal.com profile] muffyjo Wednesday, finally see Take Me Out on Thursday, and Friday morning I leave for New York, with luck in time to cross paths with my sister there for an hour or two.
