I'm immoderately pleased that the Cheese Weasel wrote back to me. He even had a good reason why I must, alas, remain cheeseless this year. That's ok, the stuff I like would have left my keyboard sticky, anyway.

Went to one of the best musical shows I've ever seen Thursday night -- Vinx at Passim. I've seen him before several times, and he can easily hold a stage with just his voice, his drums, and his immense personality. This time he brought two other drummers and a tap dancer. Just amazing.

Friday I had my review at work. It was almost completely positive, with only one comment about my communication skills when I'm stressed out that I'm pretty sure goes back to one very demanding person, because my boss looked pretty understanding when he mentioned that one and told me not to worry about it much. Turns out there are going to be major changes in the department at work in the next month.

Right now we have 4 design managers, 2 production people, and about 15 designers. They're going to make things much more hierarchical, have 5 designers and a bunch of production people, add art directors, and have the designers and production people work off of Gillette property most of the time. I was afraid that would mean work at home, which I'm not so good at, but apparently we'll have space either at Aquent, which is right nearby on Boylston, or some place next door to them. This means no dress code unless we have meetings with Gillette folks.

Oh, and did I mention -- there's been no official word yet on who will be a designer and who gets demoted to production, but it has been made clear to me that I don't have to worry. That's pretty amazing to me considering when I started there 4 years and 2 weeks ago I knew next to nothing. Apparently the department head has seen some of my recent work and been very impressed. I'm pretty sure this will come with a raise, too. Party time!
