Mar. 26th, 2004 11:35 amWhen I moved into this apartment, my roommate and I agreed that I would use the dishwasher during the week, and she could use it on shabbos. (I don't want to wash our stuff together because of kashrut issues.) Lately she's been out of work so home all the time, and cooking more often than she used to. She's been using the dishwasher a fair bit during the week, often for several days before she runs it. Not a big deal, and I've just been working around it. I did my shabbos cooking last night and put a few things in the dishwasher.
I just got an email from her asking me to "be more aware of the dish status going into your Sabbaths." She makes a point of saying that "Notes: Nothing in this email is intended to convey being mad, grouchy, or unreasonable." but I still find myself feeling like I've been yelled at unreasonably, and I'm having trouble finding a way to respond that isn't really defensive. Sigh. I really hate living with people.
