The autobiography of a man who worked with elephants, mainly in circuses and zoos. I love circuses and the elephants are one of my favorite parts, so I enjoyed this.

This series is basically a Buffy rip-off; the main character is a demon-slayer who quit slaying, got married, had kids, and then got called back into active duty, but her family knows nothing about her secret life. The first one, Carpe Demon, was pretty good, but I didn't think this one was as good, and there's pretty clearly going to be another.

Date: 2007-01-09 01:04 am (UTC)Yeah, I enjoyed the concept but not the execution so much. Too much whining and flailing that didn't really serve the plot. The "I have to be perfect" versus "I have to save the world" contrast just wasn't that interesting; just wasn't the right tension setting or something.
