165. Have Glass Slippers, Will Travel — Lisa Cach
166. Tender at the Bone — Ruth Reichl
167. Beka Cooper: Terrier — Tamora Pierce

And the one I'm really proud of:
168. Poem a Day, Volume 2 — Laurie Sheck

I decided last year that I wanted to learn to enjoy poetry. I bought this book, and on January 1 I started reading a poem a day. In the past few months I've fallen behind a few times, and had to read a week's worth of poem's at once, but today I read the last poem. Some of them I enjoyed, some of them I didn't, but I do have a different appreciation of poetry, and a better idea of what sorts of poetry I enjoy. It was definitely worth doing, but I'm not planning to buy another volume for the upcoming year.

So that's it. 168 books in one year. I might keep a list next year, but I don't think I'm going to keep track of numbers. I found myself reading sometimes with an eye towards upping my numbers -- choosing a short book over a longer one, or finishing something I wasn't enjoying, just so I could count it.

You read about 10 times more books than I did (I read 17 last year). For every book I read, you read about 10. 17 was a lot for me, too.

Nice! Very impressive!

Now that you've told me your Secret to getting so much reading done, I wanna convert to Judaism and honor Shabbos too... I'm a Unitarian, I'd be allowed, right? (Joking obviously.)

While writing capsule reviews is a pain in the ass (I only do it to keep myself in practice for writing real reviews), I totally think you should point out books that you particularly enjoyed. Whenever you recommend a book to me I usually really like it.

Though I suppose I could just keep asking you what you think whenever I spot one on your list that looks interesting. How was the Tamora Pierce, btw? I've actually given up on the author, but I've been hearing that this one's better than a lot of her recent ones.
