Wow. My new interview suit pants have no pockets. Not sure how I missed seeing that in the store. And I can't quite tell whether the jacket has pockets that are sewn shut, or if there really aren't pockets there. Tried poking at the stitching, but it's pretty tight, and I'd rather not have gaping holes on my jacket for my interview.

Wish me luck. Not sure if I want the job or not, so don't necessarily wish for that... just... that things turn out right, maybe.

Sometimes when you interview for something you're not sure you want, if you still impress them, they might refer you to another position in the company that's even more up your alley. (Of course, sometimes it happens the other way around, too. But here's hopin'.)

Suit jackets (even cheap ones) almost always come pockets sewn shut, because it looks better on the hanger. I'd say, snip the thread just at the corner and loosen a few stitches so you can see in to make sure it's a pocket. I'm guessing it is. If it's not, and you pulled it too far loose, a tiny ball of duct tape works wonders.

Of course, the catch is, if the suit is a good fit then putting anything bigger than a Kleenex or an office key in your pocket means you have an unattractive bulge that pulls your whole jacket off to one side. Some styles won't even button properly with full pockets. This is why we carry bags.

Oh, I hate suit pockets that are sewn shut.

Good luck.

Break a leg. I somehow missed that you were looking in the first place. Everything OK?
