Grrr

Back in September I won a $50 Target gift card from a Coke promotion online. I knew it would be a while before I received the gift card, so I waited patiently. In February, I finally sent them an email to find out what was up, and got no response. Tried again in March, no response. Recently I tried emailing every address I could find for them, as well as leaving voicemail, and FINALLY got a response. They claim that they mailed the gift card in November.

"Unfortunately, because this prize was shipped via USPS First Class Mail,we are unable to provide tracking information. In the event this prize is returned to us, you will receive an address confirmation request, and your prize will be resent accordingly."

They also don't have a gift card number to track whether or not it's been redeemed. So basically, I lose. Grrrrrr. I had planned on getting a nicer bathroom cabinet with that -- I have an old plastic one that's falling apart, and I thought I'd splurge and use that money towards a nice wooden one, a step towards some nice non-student type furniture, but so much for that. Sigh. I suppose I could go bug Coke about it, but I can't image I'd get much further.

Ugh, that sucks. I think you should still bug Coke about it, though - I mean, what could it hurt?

Oh, that sucks. I hope that somehow the card comes back to them and they send it out to you.

Tell 'em you're switching to Pepsi! :)

Seriously, I think squeaking that wheel makes sense--if it's bugging you, why shouldn't you pass that along?

Hope it works out!

I agree that you should contact Coke about this. They are very interested in customer relations.

It might be worth yelling at them a little bit. You probably won't get anywhere with the first person you talk to, but if you make enough of a stink to get transfered to their supervisor then that person will usually be more willing to come to some sort of arrangement, if for no other reason than to keep his/her supervisor from being bothered by it.

Good luck! Although I recommend trying a phone assault. As someone who's worked teleservice I can let you in on a little known secret: as long as you don't use profanity or speak violently they're not allowed to hang up on you. So it becomes like negotiating while they're in a headlock. ^_~
