Patriot's Day Parade
Mar. 8th, 2007 09:25 amGot this through the Somerville Arts Council list -- thought some of you might be interested in either making costumes or wearing them (guess which side I'm on...), or at least going to see the parade!
Hi all.
Historic Somerville, the Somerville Museum, and the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission are teaming up to create historically-accurate colonial clothing for everyone, big or small, who would like to participate in this year's Patriot's Day promenade and Paul Revere watch. (April 16th). If you'd like to help cut out patterns for cloaks, aprons, caps, etc. come to Costume Works, Inc. on Sunday, March 18th, from 2-5PM. Liz Perlman, the owner has generously agreed to donate her staff's time for the actual stitching. Costume Works, Inc. is located at 36 Alston Street in Somerville (02143). If you can't make it to this, but would still like to participate in the Patriot's Day event and would like a costume made, please send me a statement to that effect, and your or your children's size(s). We will meet once more before the event at the Somerville Museum (One Westwood Road) to put together the outfits for individuals on Friday, April 13, 6:00-7:30PM.
