We had our tech run for Murder last night. It was so cool to finally see the show with lights and sound -- it really makes a difference. We got a little silly at places, and it was fun to relax and enjoy it and not worry about giving 100% energy for a change. I can't wait to finally do it for an audience and finally get some of that energy back.

You've all made your reservations, right? Tickets@TheatreAtFirst.org or call toll-free: 1-877-557-5936. Only 3 days!

And on another note... I love my Mom. She called me at work yesterday and said "Now don't get upset, but your father and I spent this weekend making our funeral arrangements." She said they had a lovely time touring the funteral home, which also has a museum of Norman Rockwell paintings. She apparently made the funeral director a little uncomfortable by answering questions flippantly. "What do I care? I'll be dead." We had a nice laugh about what to put on her headstone -- she says they picked out the template but left a few lines for us to come up with something, like "Beloved Football Player". I love her irreverent sense of humor, and I really love that she's thought to make these arrangements (and pay for them) and let us know, so that I won't ever have to deal with making those decisions for them.

That's really considerate of them. Whenever my dad has a bad night, he distracts himself from the pain by writing up notes for his funeral service. They still haven't decided where to be buried, though--I'm hoping they'll choose the National Cemetery in Saratoga, but I'm afraid they'll decide on my hometown.

On a theatre note, I'm glad last night wasn't too painful and boring. It was really productive and I'm hoping tonight will show the fruits of our labors.

do you normally rehearse without sound? how does that work? do you have to mime all the lines, or does everyone just lip-read? :)
