root beer

I'm betting at least one person on my flist knows how and where to get a keg of good root beer.  Anyone?

It sure was tasty though!

I particularly loved how it was on a display that said "Perfect for Parties!" Man, I miss Wegmans...

I know that Harpoon started brewing "gourmet" root beer (and cream soda) lately. I don't know if it comes in kegs, but you might try asking at the liquor store in Davis.

I also have a hazy recollection of the Cambridge Brewing Company brewing their own root beer, but then most of my recollections of the CBC are pretty hazy. :-) They might be worth a call.

There was a distributor up on the North Shore somewhere that I got two kegs for Arisia a couple of years ago..

Virgil's is definitely available in kegs. I believe you can get Whole Foods to special order them for you, saving the shipping, and possibly even lowering the base price.

I don't know what their bottle price works out to, per liter, but I'm pretty sure it's less than $5/liter. More than $3/liter, though.

I don't know of any other specific brands to seek out, but apparently there are others, too.

Mmmmm, Virgil's...
