T@F Auditions!

I'm planning on going tomorrow night -- hope I'll see some of you there!

Theatre@First Auditions
Arms and the Man

Theatre@First is holding open auditions for our Spring Show being performed the weekends of March 22 & 29.

- No appointment necessary.
- Cold readings from the scripts (no monologues required).
- Please come prepared to stay until the end if necessary.
- Callbacks Thursday, Jan. 11 if needed.

One of Shaw's most entertaining comedies, it lets us look and laugh at war, love, and social class. Roles for both genders, ages 20-60's.

Please see our web site for detailed info, including copies of the sides for cold readings.

Out of curiosity, what does the play have to do with The Aeneid?

...never mind. I have the internet! Hrm. Interesting.

Quotations as titles!

I'm a little surprised (pleasantly) at how many people have asked me that question.
Of course, the title also makes people assume the play is a lot...heavier than it really is. Farce & witty banter, with social commentary, I assure you. :)

...and semi-obscure charcters as LJ names!

There's a show that doesn't get done enough...such hard pit music, though. (And I speak from experience here.)

It's on my list of shows I dream of directing some day. (It's also on my list of shows I dream of being in some day, because playing servant-with-no-lines-or-music-who-serves-cookies doesn't actually count. :) Sadly, I'm becoming less of an alto than I used to be, so the fantasy becomes less and less realistic.)
