So glad you are feeling good about your acting. You took a chance and found that you are good at it! My sister has started acting, also. It has really built up her self-confidence. She said, "I feel like I can do anything now." She had been behind the scenes, directing and producing shows for her kindergarten classes, for the middle school students, and for children's theater. On her 50th birthday, she set a goal to be on stage as a professional actor. So she tried out for parts in her local community theater. She has been a nun in "The Sound of Music," Mrs. Bedwin (with a speaking part and a small singing solo) in "Oliver," and Maud (also with a small speaking and singing part) in "The Music Man." She was also an extra for a TV pilot that should be showing sometime in the fall. David and I just got back from seeing her in "Beauty and the Beast" - summer stock in North Conway, New Hampshire. She got the part of Mme. Grand Bouche, the Wardrobe. Opening night was on her 53rd birthday. I am very proud of her - she achieved her goal in just 3 years! She got paid for this part -not much, but she is definitely a professional actor now. She said that summer stock is very different from community theater. They put the whole play together in just 3 weeks. She called it "Body Boot Camp" and spent all her earnings on a good pair of athletic shows for rehearsals and "character shoes" for her costume that fit over her bunions - a good way to spend her salary, I think. I am proud of her, *and* of you. Whatever you want, go for it. I so hope to see you on stage one of these days.
the play's the thing
