Sleep is for the weak

After getting home from the cast party around 3:30am, of course I still woke up around 8am. Ugh. Meant to go back to bed, but I got to updating some of the T@F web site and somehow that never happened. Then at 3pm I went to take a glass fusing class at Made By Me with [livejournal.com profile] chanaleh, which was really cool. I learned how to cut glass, and made a small square... um... thing with a couple of different colors of glass in geometric patterns, and even some tiny pieces of dichroic glass (I'm such a sucker for the shiny), plus two small glass pendants. Can't wait to pick them up Thursday and see how they come out!

Then I dropped in to Kotobukiya for a quick sushi fix, and then back to Davis to meet [livejournal.com profile] urban_faerie_ and her sister and [livejournal.com profile] ayelle and [livejournal.com profile] zendzian so we could go out to Bentley College to see [livejournal.com profile] clarity_dog's play, Neil Simon's Fools. The show turned out to be hysterically funny, and we all enjoyed it immensely. It was fun to be in the audience for a change. We ended up hanging around for a while helping out with their strike, which mostly involved getting to rip apart pieces of wood -- always fun. Oh, and they had another Gilly in their cast, who pronounces her name the same way I do! It was really surreal to hear someone calling her name and have it not be me they were talking to.

We were on the road home when we passed a Friendly's, and by unanimous acclaim we turned around and went back for ice cream. [livejournal.com profile] ayelle and I were ridiculously excited to discover that they actually had soft ice cream, not just frozen yogurt. I think we managed to amuse the staff more than a little.

And now I'm home and debating whether I want to watch Doctor Who tonight or just crash and see it tomorrow. All in all, a really nice day, and the perfect antidote to the post-show blues.
