I can't, I have rehearsal

Waaaaah! Gene Wilder is giving a free talk and signing at BU tonight. I adore Gene Wilder. I'm dying to go hear him. But I have rehearsal tonight, and it's a dance rehearsal that I can't possibly afford to miss. Someone else go and report back in detail, please! In fact, if anyone does go, I'd be happy to pay you back for an autographed copy of the book. Tell Gene I love him but the show must... (go on!)

The details:
Screen actor Gene Wilder reflects on and shares stories from his film career (including the Mel Brooks films The Producers, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein) as well as his personal life (including his marriage to the late Gilda Radner) in an on-stage interview with Robin Young, the host of NPR’s Here and Now; afterward, he’ll sign copies of his new memoir, Kiss Me like a Stranger. That’s at 7 p.m. at Boston University’s Tsai Performance Center, 685 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. Free tickets are available at the Tsai box office beginning at 5 p.m.; for more information, call the BU Barnes & Noble at (617) 267-8484.

Oh! I'm going to actually try to drag the kids over to the Tsai Center to score tickets (and then hand over the kids to their Dad afterwards). I wonder if I can pull this off? I would so love to hear him speak in person. Serious crush on him from Willy Wonka and I love his work.

Hi. I'm going to *try* to get there before 5PM. I'm not sure how many tickets I can get. If you'd like me to try to get you a ticket, give me a call on my cell. This is of course depending on how many tickets each person is allowed to get and if the kids let me stand in line to get them...

this is horrible! I wish i'd known yesterday... I'm too behind in work but I don't even have class today!! I could've gone! I technically still could but I'm too behind in work to make it feasible.

on the other hand... gene wilder... argh. damnit. *sulks in a corner*
