I loved The Three Musketeers. It was so much fun to read the whole thing versus seeing various movie versions, which pick & choose the scenes to portray.

Also, I've never seen any movie do the drunken basement scene funnier than the original writing.

Stoker's Dracula starts off marvelously, then falls apart once VanHelsing is on stage. It slows down and gets wrung out and confusing. There are several good scenes in the latter part of the book, and it finishes well, but it drags a bit. Everybody's so complimentary of everybody else as being brave and true and bold and noble and good...

However, it was awesome to have read the source material for so much of the vampire stories. And, as Regis likes to say, it's a triumph of technology as the use of the most up-to-date tech of the time helps them get and stay organized in their battle against THE MONSTER!

Along the same lines, I recommend Frankenstein. Very interesting to have the source or inspiration material for so much literature that came after. And nothing like any of the movies.

A Christmas Carol is super short. Worth the time.
